Beyond the Horizon, a 2024 Inktober illustration available in limited art prints

Inktober

Every October, I embark on a month-long adventure with India ink, immersing myself in the Inktober challenge. It’s a time to push creative boundaries, weaving stories into my drawings—one stroke, one day, one tale at a time.

Serendipité, a collaboration piece between Bastien and Flavien

Bastien & Flavien

Art peaks where minds and hearts meet. French artist Bastien Bouta and I proudly present an exclusive series, seamlessly blending his vibrant abstraction with my structured calligraphy and Japanese-inspired design—a true harmony of techniques and visions.

Hello!

Welcome! I’m Flavien, a French artist who blends traditional and digital mediums.

Though I’m based in Paris, my journey as an artist has been shaped by my time living abroad, especially in Japan. During my years there, I immersed myself in the country’s rich artistic traditions, experimenting with sumi (墨) ink and gansai (顔彩), a form of watercolor unique to Japan. These influences continue to shape my creative process today.

My work is a fusion of storytelling, graphic design, typography, and a love for both classical and children’s book illustrations. I’m drawn to narratives that explore the eerie and the fantastic, often bringing monsters and mythical creatures to life in my drawings.

Take a look around—I'm excited to share this ongoing creative journey with you.
